The global fur industry has experienced a massive collapse, shrinking by 85% over the last decade due to shifting fashion trends, animal welfare activism, and health crises. Global production fell from over 140 million animals in 2014 to roughly 20 million in 2023, with over 1,600 brands, including top luxury houses like Gucci, Chanel, and Prada, adopting fur-free policies.
